Join a week of "Sonic Boom! The Magic of Sound" fun for Primary School students

ABOUT SONIC BOOM!

Do you love music, movies, and the power of sound? Have you ever wanted to create your own beats, sound effects, or even compose for films? This spring, Laurus International School of Science presents "Sonic Boom", an exciting hands-on STEAM experience designed for young sound explorers who want to play,experiment and create with music and technology. Get ready to feel the rhythm, mix the beats, and bring stories to life with sound!

This isn’t just a class—it’s a one-of-a-kind adventure into the world of sound! Whether you love music, movies, sports, or creative experimentation, Sonic Boom is your chance to explore, create, and have fun.

SPRING SCHOOL HOURS:

We offer two enrollment options:

  • Regular: 10:00 - 15:30

  • Early Arrival: 8:30 - 15:30

Please note, when the school is closed due to emergencies such as bad weather or disasters, no make-up lessons or refunds will be provided.

  • Regular: ¥75,000 / 5 days
    Early Arrival: ¥90,000/ 5 days

  • General:

    • Regular: ¥80,000 / 5 days

    • Early Arrival: ¥95,000/ 5 days

    KA/KA Plus! Members:

    • Regular: ¥75,000 / 5 days

    • Early Arrival: ¥90,000/ 5 days

    • School Bus: ¥3,500 / one-way;¥7,000 / round trip

    • Express Bus: ¥5,000 / one-way ¥10,000 / round trip

    • Entrance Fee: ¥5,500 *First time non-member only

    • Extended fee: ¥1,000 / 30min (8:30-10:00)

CANCELLATION POLICY

If a parent/guardian wishes to cancel or change the course after registration, a handling fee of 1,000 yen will be charged. After the registration deadline, kindly note that course changes and refunds will not be made.

DAILY SCHEDULE

  • Get your hands moving with a high-energy percussion workshop! Discover how sound is made through body percussion, Boom whackers, and interactive rhythm games. Through these fun activities, you’ll learn how beats and vibrations shape the way we experience music.

  • Step into the world of digital music creation! Using apps like Rhythm Cat, you’ll explore how rhythm and melody work together, arrange music using tech tools, and independently discover cool new music apps that let you make your own soundtracks.

  • Ever wondered how movies get their amazing sound effects? Learn to design sounds for cartoons, create movie scripts with FX, and build immersive audio experiences that make stories come alive. Plus, enjoy some fun sound-based games to test your creativity! ⚡

  • Combine sound with action as you play rhythm-based sports games! From basketball dribbling to the beat to fun ball games with music, this day will show you how sound and movement work together. Plus, you’ll collaborate on a big group movie project, adding music and effects to bring it to life!

  • A Sound Adventure Beyond the Classroom! To cap off this thrilling week, we’ll take an exciting field trip where you’ll engage in an interactive experience that brings sound to life in unexpected ways.

Information for Enrolled Students

Things to Bring

Please write your name in English on all of your belongings.

Please bring a drink (water bottle), cutlery (spoon, fork, chopsticks, etc.), inner shoes, and hand paper.

Allergies and Health

  • For students with allergies, please bring your own lunch as we are unable to provide lunch for students with allergies during seasonal events.

  • During seasonal events we are unable to accept students requiring the use of an EpiPen due to the lack of medical staff available.

  • Since the administration of medication to children is a “medical procedure” as defined by law, we do not have permission to administer medication to children. Therefore, as a general rule, the school will not accept medication.

Other

  • Tours of schools and facilities must be reserved in advance. Please contact the school if you wish to visit.

  • International participants must purchase travel insurance. If you do not have travel insurance and become ill or injured while attending our seasonal event, you will be responsible for your own medical expenses.

FAQ

  • All classes will be provided in English. We recommend that children attend at a level where they can understand English vocabulary and basic English conversation. Basically, we do not provide class support in Japanese.

  • Classes will be assigned according to age and number of students in the class. However, please understand that classes may be moved at the discretion of the teacher. We also appreciate your understanding that it may be difficult to accommodate requests regarding class transfers for all students.

  • STEM lessons will be given on the theme.

  • We are sorry but we do not take school tour reservations from seasonal schools and events participants.

  • We will provide transportation service by school bus, but it will be fixed use for the 5 days you will be participating in the program. (Single-day bus service is not available.) In addition, there will be an extension fee for the use of the bus. Please check the application form for details.

  • We regret that different bus stops are not available within the same week.

  • No new bus stops will be established during the Seasonal Program.

  • You may drive your child to and from school, but please do not park or temporarily park in front of the school. Please park in a nearby coin-operated parking lot and take your child to and from school.

  • We apologize for the inconvenience, but we generally do not allow early dismissal.

  • Once you have registered for the program, the school will send you an invoice by email. Once we have received your payment, your registration is complete. Please note that we do not accept cash payments.

  • Extension fees will be billed at a later date based on actual extended hours. After the Seasonal Program, you will receive a billing notice from the school.

  • Please note that no refunds will be made for missed classes.

  • The school does not have a microwave for student use. Please note that we do not provide individual lunch heating service.

  • Please contact the school Reception as soon as possible. If you return the items by mail, we will accept payment on delivery. We will keep lost and found items for two weeks after the end of the school day, but we will dispose of them at our own risk if the owner of the lost and found items does not notify us.
