Join us for a high-energy week packed with fun games, sporty challenges, and cool experiments. You’ll play exciting team games, try out new sports, and use real science tools to track things like your heart rate and how much energy you use during exercise. You’ll discover what happens inside your body when you move—and why!
Whether you're a science whiz, a sporty superstar, or just curious about how your body works, this is the summer adventure for you. Let’s race, explore, and discover together!
Bring your trainers, your curiosity, and get ready to move, learn, and have LOADS of fun!
-
Students will explore how cities work and how they can be improved for the future. They'll learn how buildings, roads, and systems like transport and energy are all connected. Through fun, hands-on STEM activities, students will design parts of a city that can grow over time, stay safe during disasters, and work better for the people who live there.
-
The design of our indoor living spaces shows our cultural priorities and deeply held beliefs. These priorities have changed more in the last 5 years than they have in generations. We are seeing macro shifts in interior design. Let’s explore the future of indoor living spaces. What kind of society do we want to encourage? What materials should we use? How should we arrange our living spaces? We’ll design the homes and offices of the future.
-
Get ready to taste your way around the globe and into the future! This deliciously curious week dives into the science behind what we eat, why we eat it, and how food is evolving across cultures and technologies.
From experimenting with edible chemistry to exploring global cuisines and investigating foods of the future—like lab-grown meat and vertical farming—you'll engage in hands-on culinary STEM challenges and discover how innovation, sustainability, and tradition come together on our plates.
By the end of the week, you’ll be thinking like a food scientist, innovating like a chef, and creating like a cultural explorer! Bon appétit!
-
Students will work together to solve real problems and make the world a better place. You’ll engage in games and crafts that explore building things like strong roads, stronger infrastructure, and using technology.
-
Step into the spotlight this summer with a fashion and design program that’s bursting with creativity and style!
In Future Threads, students will explore the latest trends, experiment with bold ideas, and bring their own clothing concepts to life. From sketching and mood boards to hands-on design challenges and mini runway moments, this is a chance for young creatives to express themselves, learn new skills, and discover the art of fashion in a fun, collaborative environment.
Let’s stitch the future—one outfit at a time!

Special Astro Course by Dr Paul Cizdziel: Understanding and Viewing the Cosmos
Mankind’s relationship to the stars and constellations have been a key foundation of human culture since the beginning of time. We will explore several ways it has influenced human history, and why and how we study the cosmos today.
The new era of astronomical discovery employs powerful telescopes and other detectors; several of which orbit in space. We will explore what we know about the universe and the massive celestial structures that comprise it. Students will learn how to find various celestial objects in the sky and which are possible see and photograph with very simple digital photography tools.
In the last decade, astrophotography has been enabled primarily by advances in hardware integration (telescopes & mounts), software solutions, improved digital camera sensors and image processing. Advanced amateur telescope equipment will be demonstrated.
Activities:
3D Constellation – Students (group work) will construct a hanging 3D model of an anonymous star pattern using provided x-y-z coordinates.
Earth Orbital & Solar System Model – A 3D model of the earth`s orbit will be constructed to illustrate how and why the seasons and constellations change in the night sky through-out the year.
Excursion – JAXA Aerospace Center and Earth Life Science Institute
Image Planning - Students will plan out an imaging project like the Milky Way or Planet Saturn, or Andromeda galaxy. Students will then determine the needed equipment, timing, location and sky position to complete the (hypothetical) task.
Night Viewing – Depending on the weather and cloud forecast, telescope viewing of the stars (attendance optional).
-
Modern problems require inventive solutions! In Future Homes we will investigate how the challenges of today may shape the buildings of tomorrow.
From smart technologies to sustainable materials, and from cultural shifts to climate change, we will explore how emerging innovations can help us futureproof the homes we live in.
-
What’s the best way to get from location A to location B? The answer largely depends on three factors; where location A is, where location B is, and the criteria by which you define ‘best’. From flying cars to floating trains, and from space elevators to spaceships, in Future Transport we will explore a range of concepts for moving people and goods between cities, between nations, and between planets.
-
As each day passes, the digital world and the physical world merge together more and more. How we communicate, how we work, how we play, how we live have all changed dramatically over the last few years. What will the future hold? In this week of Summer School, the students will gaze into the future and see how technology will change their lives and will work to have an impact and a guiding influence on how that future will unfold.
