Turning Inspiration into Action: Lessons from Ashinaga
We talk a lot about "making an impact," but how do you actually do it?
Teruma and Rio, from our student council, decided to find out. They reached out to Ashinaga to get a behind-the-scenes look at how they cultivate support for their humanitarian mission. The goal wasn't just to hear about the organization, but to figure out how to bring that same energy to our own school projects.
They walked away with a new perspective on communication, leadership, and how to get others genuinely invested in a cause. The best part? This isn’t a one-off event. The ideas discussed during this meeting are already being turned into a new set of goals for our student council.

Fresh Start: Setting SMART Goals for Term Two – A Year 10 IGCSE Guide
Term Two is an ideal time for Year 10 IGCSE students to review Term One results and set SMART goals that strengthen study habits and support future pathways like A‑Levels, UCAS, and U.S. college applications. Students should choose 2–3 realistic goals that connect short‑term actions—such as weekly revision or better organisation—with long‑term aims like A‑Level eligibility or building a strong academic profile.
Those considering U.S. universities should also begin planning summer enrichment, including pre‑college programs or volunteering, while keeping an activity log for future applications. Parents can help by guiding reflection without taking over. Effective goal setting now helps students turn feedback into momentum and prepare confidently for future academic choices.
Artemis Missions to the Moon
NASA’s Artemis II mission is set to launch on February 6, 2026, from Kennedy Space Center. This historic flight will carry four astronauts on a 10-day journey around the Moon, traveling farther than any humans before. The mission will test Orion’s life support systems and prepare for future lunar landings under the Artemis program.
